So after paying the fine for charges to not be pressed we ran away into the national parks of Virginia. Scenic driving, camping out under the stars, swimming in streams and rivers, seeing a wild bear, and eating loads of donuts from the 7-11.
The skyline drive runs along a wooded ridge whig makes up Shenandoah national park, with great views down into the valleys and plains. There are loads of well kept hiking trails, including the country spanning (north south) Appalachian trail passing through. It is full of tourists though until you venture further into the woods where the bear poo is concerningly common!

Also America is awesome for its roadside signs and attractions- every house seemed to have a sign out supporting Somebody For Sheriff! And there are huge offers of saviour outside churches and anti abortion posters! And then there are the roadside shops and attraction, look no further than dinosaur land!
